Concrete Curbs in Colorado Springs, CO
Pavco Paving pours straight curbs, rolled (mountable) curbs, integral curb-and-gutter, and decorative landscape curbs across Colorado Springs and El Paso County. Whether you need a parking-lot perimeter to direct snow plows, a residential driveway curb to keep cars on the slab, or a stamped landscape edge, our curb crew has the formwork and finishing experience to get it right.
Curbs are typically poured at 6-inch face height for parking-lot duty and 4-6 inch height for residential and landscape applications. We use 4,000-PSI air-entrained mix with fiber reinforcement and provide proper expansion joints at structures and saw-cut control joints to manage thermal movement.
All curb work matches City of Colorado Springs specs where applicable, including 6-inch vertical curb-and-gutter per City Standard Detail for commercial parking lots and rolled curb sections for residential driveways. Curbs are often combined with new concrete driveways or aprons for a complete street-edge project.

Curb Types We Pour
Straight (vertical) curb has a 6-inch vertical face and is the most common parking-lot edge. Rolled or mountable curb has a 45-degree sloped face that lets vehicles cross at any point - common for residential driveway aprons and HOA streets. Integral curb-and-gutter combines a vertical curb with a poured gutter pan for stormwater control. Landscape curb is a lower-profile decorative edge for beds, trees and walkway borders, often with a stamped or colored finish.
Form-Pour vs Extruded Curb
For runs under 100 linear feet or complex shapes, we form-pour using wood or steel forms. For longer continuous runs, we use a curb extruder that lays continuous curb at 15-25 feet per minute. Extruded curb is faster and lower cost per foot but only works for straight or large-radius runs - tight curves still need form-pour.
Reinforcement & Joints
All structural curbs get a #3 or #4 rebar running longitudinally and short cross-bars or dowels into the adjacent slab. We tool or saw-cut control joints every 10-15 feet to control thermal cracking and place expansion joints at all structures (buildings, manholes, light poles).
Repair vs Replace
Curb sections damaged by plows or vehicle hits can usually be replaced one segment at a time. We saw-cut at the nearest expansion joints, demo the damaged section, and pour a matching replacement. For systemic curb failure across an entire lot or street frontage, full replacement is more cost-effective.
Driveway / Parking Curbs
Direct traffic, contain plowed snow, protect slab edges.
Landscape Curbs
Decorative edges for beds, trees and walkway borders.
